On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, Mrs. Filomena Lopes Borges, President of the Angolan Community in Côte d'Ivoire and the Ivorian-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce, was received in audience by the Director of BIPIA, Dr. Moussa MAMA, accompanied by Mr. Missa SORO, Head of the Projects Department, and Mr. Lassina YEO, Head of the Promotion and Communication Department.
This meeting is part of the strengthened collaboration between African communities and the Ivorian state.
Mrs. Borges presented an ambitious project led by the organization "State of the African Diaspora," whose main objective is to strengthen ties between Africa and its diaspora. This initiative brings together about twenty representatives from various countries, including India, Brazil, Panama, the United States, France, and Belgium. Among the flagship projects are the creation of an identity card symbolizing African citizenship, as well as the launch of a diaspora-dedicated bank, an airline, a chamber of commerce, and programs focusing on Africa's historical restitution and reparations.
During the audience, Mrs. Borges sought the support of the Ministry Delegate attached to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Integration, and Ivorians Abroad, responsible for African Integration and Ivorians Abroad, for the implementation of the various actions of the State of the African Diaspora. In response, the Director of BIPIA, while acknowledging the relevance of the project, assured that he would forward this request to the higher authorities to explore possible ways of support.
BIPIA remains committed to supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening African integration and international cooperation.
